Owners must clean up after their dog if it fouls, and dispose of the waste appropriately. Failure to do this may result in the receipt of a fixed penalty ticket of £80 or a fine of up to £1000.
A car becomes an oven in even moderate sunshine. Please do not leave your dog in the car, even for short periods of time. If your dog becomes distressed, the car may be broken in to by the Police or Local Authority Animal Welfare Officers and you may be prosecuted.
In the UK, some breeds of dog are prohibited and may only be owned if they are neutered. tattooed and on the exempt dogs register (for further information contact www.defra.gov.uk)
Your dog relies on you for food, exercise, accommodation, veterinary treatment and of course, love. Make sure his needs are properly met (the Animal Welfare Act 2006 makes this a requirement).

All dogs must wear a collar and id tag when not at home (even if the owner is with them). Failure to ensure your dog has a collar and tag on may result in a fine of up to £5000. Microchipping is a really useful system, but does NOT replace an id tag.
